Reflection:

 

Day 1  The heat was unbearable; however, our team was DYNAMITE!!  The caches were clever and the clues were creative.  Our team's cooperative spirit helped us complete the task in a timely manner. 

 

Day 2   The weather was great!  We had such a great time as we worked together as a team finding the Geo Caches. Our team explored the different tools needed to gather information about trees and leaves.  Along the way we recorded our data, used our GPS to input data , picked up trash, marveled at nature,used our "tree tools", and had fun.

Classroom Application

 

Day 1

 

When you return to school in the fall, how will you use what you learned today in your classroom?  We will incorporate caching to develop problem solving skills in science investigations and mathematics.  Students may identify animal signs or solve math problems in order to move through the multi cache course.

 

How will you use what you learned today to train the teachers in your school?  We will use the model presented today to implement staff development through inquiry based instruction. 

 

 

Day 2

 

When you return to school in the fall, how will you use what you learned today in your classroom?

These are great lessoins to use to integrate science in the other areas.  Great way to start the year off ..with a Geo Cache.

 

How will you use what you learned today to train the teachers in your school?

What a neat ice breaker to begin team building.

 

 

Most Intriguing Thing About Today...

 

Day 1  Cache locations were creative.

 

Day 2  The tools were interesting and a great way to spark interest for students,parents and staff.

 

 

Additional Comments --  We all enjoyed the actual GPS tracking eventhough the heat was TOO much!

 

This experience was SUPER.  Thanks for the adventure......
